bismillah...
assalamualaikum n good day everyone!~ ^^
a fruit full discussion between me and one non-Muslim MO in psychiatric dept...
me: I am frustrated on how ignorance people are regarding the humanitarian issues in Palestine, Syria and lots of other places that really need our attention. people are preoccupied with all the other things; sports, entertainment, etc EXCEPT this one. it makes me really upset and angry and i keep on wondering on how would i change the mind-setting of people around me.
Dr: u can't never change people's thought by asking them to change. u'll just making yourself become angrier, restless and upset by doing that. what should u do is change yourself first, do what u expect them to do, show good examples, and sooner or later, they'll realize it. Though the process might takes days, months or even years. for example, when u expect your siblings to take out the rubbish, you yourself have to make the move. 1st week, 2nd week, 3rd week, just do it without saying a word. at one point, they surely will realize it. At the same time, u'll be more relax, calm and not stressing yourself out.
*subhanallah.. it is really hard for me to listen to other people advise (because u know how stubborn i am)... but listening to the Dr advise was really an eye opening event...
it makes me think again..... Allah have mention,
As-Saff 61: 2-3
"mengapa kamu menyuruh orang lain (mengerjakan) kebajikan, sedangkan kamu melupakan dirimu sendiri." Al-Baqarah 2: 44
astaghfirullahal 'azim. so instead of getting upset by the situation.. it is ME MYSELF that should start the first step. and not expecting other people to start it first.
Fussilat 41: 33
In other situation, thought i might already do it but surely the efforts was just not enough!
Fussilat 41: 35
i was embarrassed with myself because as a Muslim who read the Qur'an, i should have know this.. but surely, i should realize that
'man always do mistakes,
a good man realize his mistakes,
a better man learn from the mistakes,
but the best man realize the mistakes, learn from it and not doing it again'
Allah always have reason for everything that happen and i'm DEFINITELY not a perfect person.
not a single person in this world is perfect EXCEPT him, Muhammad (peace be upon him)..
Al-Ahzab 33: 21
that's why, for every single thing that we do, we must ALWAYS come back to Allah. He's The One PERFECT Planner of all and its in His hand everything that happen, happen.. AllahuAkhbar.
in conclusion.... CHANGE to a BETTER muslim, not a PESSIMIST one.. ^^
alhamdulillah thummal hamdulillah...
